Respect to all humans, Respect to all women

Every year in march, we celebrate the International Women’s Month, a celebration made to show that women are also people that can are contributors in this world, and is the reason why we celebrate it. The celebration aims to let people recognize and see the empowerment of women.   It is important for us to commemorate the women’s month as it is the time for us to reflect on the courage of women and recognize their efforts throughout the history to the current present. Women are also people who lives every single day. As such, we mustn’t fight each other and instead, we must treat each other as equals and with respect. The women’s empowerment was also made to grant women with the same rights as men and to give them freedom. There are also some laws to help women such as the Republic Act 9262 and Republic Act 6725.   Women are as important as men in this world, as they have the skills and the potential that could be greater than anyone else in this world. They are the li...

Finally on the last stretch

Up until now, I never realized how the time flies so fast. The third quarter of this school year is nearing its end, and it’s time to look back at what happened during the past two months of this quarter. During this quarter, I learned a lot of things and knowledge that I didn’t knew before. In this quarter, I have discovered more about towns and including their traditions, history, culture, and more.   This quarter have taught me a lot of things, preferably more about community-based studies. Researching about our community’s history and culture have opened my eyes on another whole world and have widened my understanding on our town. Discovering more things like tourist attractions, learning about the town’s traditions made me enjoy studying the topic and it was quite fun overall.   As we’re moving on forward into another quarter of our semester, we should look back and think about the fun and struggles that went by with just a blink of an eye during this quarter. Let...

Take it? Or avoid it

Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic has started, the doctors are scientists have tried their best to make a vaccine against the Covid-19 virus. Even though the vaccine was made for the good of people, parents often wonder if there will be any side effects to their child if they get vaccinated. And because of this, rumors have spread, conspiracies have been made, and the majority of parents were afraid of the vaccines because of some potential negative effects on their children.   Even with the potential side effects of the vaccines, we cannot achieve resistance on the virus without some risks involved. Some risks may be inevitable that is why doing vaccine research is in motion to prevent these effects not just on children, but also adults. Vaccination is also important as such will be important to reduce the cases of the virus and to prevent the virus from spreading further.   Because of the virus steadily increasing by the second, everyone wants to get vaccinated for th...

The Battle of Bataan started on January 7 and was fought by the United States and the Philippine Commonwealth against Japan during World War 2 as Japan wanted to invade Philippines. On April 9, 1942, Army Major General Edward P. King surrendered to Japanese General Masaharu Homma, and ended the Battle of Bataan. After that, the Bataan Death March has begun and it was one of the bloodiest catastrophes in history. The Day of Lenten

Lenten Season, is a celebration that the Catholics are celebrating every year. It is for remembering the sacrifices of our Lord Jesus Christ. Lenten has been a tradition for Catholics and has been a special day for the religion. It is because Lenten is the day that showed how our Lord Jesus Christ had sacrificed himself for our very own sake long time ago.   Every day, on the day of April 14-15 every year, is the day for us Catholics to remember the sacrifices of Jesus Christ. In this day, the Catholic Church advises that all Catholics to fast and abstain from eating meat in specific days. Abstinence is refraining from eating meat while fish is permitted, while fasting is eating only a single full meal per day.   This Lenten season has become an important occasion for us Catholics as it is a reminder for us to not forget all the sacrifices our Lord Jesus Christ had done for us.

A new year, A new Memory for the Festival we love

Hello there my dear viewer, the yearly Kannawidan Festival is over in just a blink of the eye. Have you seen the opening of the Kannawidan festival? Did you with your friends or family? The Kannawidan Festival is one of the most important festivals for us ilocanoes and it is almost a must to go to place every year.   The Kannawidan Festival is important to us ilocanoes especially since we can only celebrate this festival once every year. During this festival, a lot of events appear here and there such as the “Saniata” which if you didn’t know, is a pageant show where every girl represents their own towns and barangays. Of course, the saniata is not just what you can in in the festival, like food stalls are more!   We ilocanoes celebrate this festival with love and excitement within our hearts. And I hope that soon, the pandemic would be gone for us to celebrate this festival next year with no more worries together with our friends and family.

Christmas in an unusual way

It has been 2 years since the pandemic started and the Covid-19 virus is still a concern in our world. Because of this, celebrating Christmas has few changes here and there. And for the safety of everyone, some areas in Vigan are limited and prohibited.   In Ilocos Sur, especially in Vigan City, Bigue ñ os celebrate these festivities in a unique kind of way because of the limitations. Some of them are celebrating outside whether it be at restaurants or some tourist spots, some of them also just celebrate indoors inside their houses.   No matter where and how we celebrate Christmas, we shouldn’t forget that Christmas is a day for everyone to celebrate with their family and friends together. I hope that the Covid virus would be gone after everything that happened so that our usual lives would be back to normal. Now that the Christmas and New Year are over, we should brace ourselves and face the future ahead of us. https://i1.wp.com/www.travelworldheritage.com/wp-content...
